Colyton and Seaton fire crews rescued five people from a vehicle stuck in flooding at Whitford Bridge on Monday (December 4).
The team used flood suits to make their way through water to the four-wheel drive vehicle, which was a meter deep in places.
The occupants, described as "five very wet and cold people," were given life jackets then guided to safety.
The road was then taped-off and warnings given to motorists and locals.
Colyton Fire Station advised: "Please don't drive through flood water, find an alternative route.
"If you have a vehicle that can deal with this, please, replace the tape after you."
A yellow weather warning for rain remains in place until 7pm today (Thursday, December 7).
