The town of Lyme Regis hailed in the festive season with the switching on of its Christmas lights last Saturday, (November 25).
The event began with the Christmas lantern-making workshop at Pine Hall, Lyme Regis Baptist Church. Prizes were awarded for the best lanterns in each age category with judging. Lanterns made at home were also welcome to enter the competition.
Following judging, a lantern parade made its way down Broad Street. Lyme Regis Majorettes added bit of extra sparkle to the proceedings with an energetic routine along with Fitsteps and Lyme Morris who will perform before the lights are switched on at 5pm.
The lights will continue to sparkle until the first week of January, taking the town into a bright New Year. Thanks to everyone on the Lyme Regis Community Facebook page who allowed the Herald to use their photographs.
