Cranbrook will be full of Santas next weekend for a charity fun run.
The Cranbrook Christmas Cracker will feature a family fun run and 5km race organised by the town's running club and Move More Cranbrook, a local group committed to encouraging active lifestyles in the resident community.
The charity fun run, scheduled to take place at the country park on December 2, will see participants don festive Santa attire.
Matt Rowett, chair of Cranbrook Running Club and the Move More Cranbrook steering group, pointed out the wider goal of the event, saying: "This occasion is for runners and non-runners alike, aiming to help families in Cranbrook be active while enjoying some festive fun."
Mr Rowett added: "The emphasis here is on the word fun.
"The family fun run is non-competitive, and everyone will be rewarded with a medal and a hot chocolate, regardless of their speed or level of fitness."
He expressed anticipation for locals to join the 5km race, including regular parkrun enthusiasts, those welcoming a challenge, and recent graduates of a Couch to 5km programme.
Fellow steering group member, James Bogue, stressed the event's significance for Move More Cranbrook’s mission.
"Encouraging people to move more isn’t enough.
"We all know what we should or could be doing to lead more active lives.
"In Cranbrook, we’re going a step further and putting on an entire programme of events that the whole family can take part in.
"It kicks off a series of events which will take place in Cranbrook across the next year," he said.
As the community gears up for the Santa fête at the country park, places for the fun run continue to be on sale and can be found at Cranbrook Running Club's official website.
