Police say they dealt with a noisy 'unlicensed event' at the site of the former Seaton Heights Hotel at the weekend.
Complaints from local residents were received at 7.30am on Sunday, November 26, with concerns expressed about the safety of those attending as well as the noise and disturbance.
The former hotel and holiday apartments complex on Harepath Hill had been derelict for about 20 years and was further damaged by a major fire on October 23 - which was being treated as arson.
Following the reports of loud music coming from the site on Sunday morning, police moved in to disperse the crowds. Music equipment was seized, along with a vehicle that had been used to transport it to the venue.
The organiser of the event has been reported for conducting a licensable activity on the premises without authorisation.
Police say local teams are continuing to liaise with partner agencies regarding the future of the site and the wider security issues.
