Four local organisations each received donations of £250 from Axminster's Masonic Lodge during its annual church service.
The service for Lodge Virtue and Honor was held in the Minster Church on the afternoon of Sunday, October 22, and was led by the Rev Geoffrey Walsh with organise Peter Lea-Cox.
During tea at the Lodge afterwards the presentations were made to Axminster Outdoor Bowling Club (received by president Doug Looskan), Axminster Skate Park (received by Nigel Rose-Walton), Read Easy Axminster and Seaton (received by treasurer Pat Baldwin) and Axminster Hospital League of Friends (received by chairman Steve Holt).
All the recipients gave a short update on their work in the Axminster community and expressed their gratitude for the donations.
On behalf of Lodge Virtue and Honor Simon Squire said how pleased the members of the Lodge were to make the donations, thanked the representatives for the 'wonderful' contributions made by their organisations to the community, and said the members of the Lodge would all be working very hard, led by their Charity Steward Philip Male, to raise funds so that they could make further donations in the future.
