As Fairfield House build up to their Race for Life Event, they have some beautiful paintings displayed in the front conservatory.
Resident ‘Alan Ashpool’ is a keen artist, and enjoys using acrylic paints, the pictures are mainly based on historical drawings of faces, “painting heads”. Alan has very generously agreed to donate 50% of each sale to Fairfield’s Race for Life Fund! Each canvas costs £80.
Residents at Fairfield House care home will be walking 56 laps around the gardens to raise money for Cancer Research UK on Thursday, September 21.
Taking place between 11 am and 12 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm at the home, residents will complete the equivalent of a 10-kilometre walk around the gardens of Fairfield House in Lyme Regis.
The target is £1,000, as from Monday, (September 4) £280 has been raised. Cancer Research UK said: "Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. Help Cancer Research UK improve results even faster."
