The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s community nursing roadshow will be coming to Honiton Hospital on Saturday, September 9.
Student nurses, registered nurses and return to practice nurses are invited to attend the event, which is designed to 'shine a spotlight' on community nursing careers.
Attendees will have the chance to take a tour of the hospital, talk to members of the community nursing team, learn about the equipment kit bags used, discover the different role options available and even have an interview.
Community nursing is one of more than 50 different specialisms for nursing careers and one which is considered to offer a very rewarding role for nurses.
Jane Cawthorn-Weaver, a Clinical Matron in the community team at the Royal Devon said: “It’s a real privilege to care for patients in their homes and help them stay fit and healthy. There are lots of development opportunities for both clinical and management skills, including the specialist practice qualification.”
The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which provides care to more than 615,000 people, was established in April 2022 and have a workforce of over 15,000 staff, making them the largest employer in Devon.
As part of the community nursing team at the Royal Devon, nurses can make a difference by treating a diverse range of conditions and patient groups, increasing their clinical experience and skills, with no two days the same.
Nurses who would like flexible hours that provide a great work-life balance are encouraged to apply with full and part-time roles available at locations across Devon, including community inpatient, community nurse, urgent community response, and out-of-hours.
The Royal Devon Community Nursing Roadshow will be at Honiton Hospital, Marlpits Lane, Honiton, EX14 2DE on Saturday, September 9 from 9am until 12pm.
Further Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust roadshow events will be held at the North Devon District Hospital on Saturday, October 7 and at Tiverton hospital on Saturday, November 4.
