The Proclaimers have had to pull out of the Beautiful Days festival.
The Scottish rock duo, comprising twin brothers Charlie and Craig Reid, were due to play on the main stage on Sunday, August 20.
But they have announced that Charlie has suffered voice loss linked to having a perforated eardrum, and will be unable to perform any of the band’s August and September gigs - all of which are now cancelled.
Charlie said: “I’m very sorry that I can’t play these shows and thank everyone for all the fantastic support over this tour.”
The Beautiful Days performance was among the final dates of The Proclaimers’ ‘Dentures Out’ tour that began in June 2022 and has seen 96 shows.
Beautiful Days takes place at Escot near Ottery St Mary and runs from Friday, August 18 until Sunday 20, with headline performers on the main stage including Suede, Primal Scream, Johnny Marr and The Waterboys.
Tickets are sold out, and the festival organisers have ‘strongly advised’ against buying them from unofficial outlets or via social media, as these offers are rarely genuine.
