The date for Honiton's historical charter day has been announced.
Taking place on Saturday, July 29 from 10 am till 4 pm in the high street and Allhallows. You can expect a tractor and classic car display, George the Magician, live music, decorated window displays, plus a dog show, a bouncy castle, charity stalls, a food village, a traditional street market, and an art and craft village.
This year is the 766th Anniversary of the granting of the Market Charter in 1257 until present day.
Honiton Charter Day celebrates the awarding of the Royal Charter in 1257 which granted rights for a weekly market.
This will be the first charter day for new Honiton Mayor Helen Hurford. The Honiton Market Charter Planning Group would like to thank the following for all their support. The event has been celebrated in the town annually since 2017 and is a day for local charities and groups to raise funds and awareness of their good work
There are various events spread around the area for Charter Day this year including Entertainment at Allhallows: Fun Dog Show (starts 1pm), Bouncy Castles and Slide, Lions Classic Car and Tractor Show, Food Village, Art and craft village, Bar, Shire Horses, Llamas, Skittles, Forge, Wheelwright, Emergency vehicles, Charity Stalls, Fancy Dress - 11 am, Stocks, Face painting and Punch and Judy
