The wildlife reporter for the BBC's The One Show is set to hold a community literacy event at Axminster Waffle House.
Mike Dilger is bound for Axminster in the latest community literary event run by Archway Bookshop in partnership with the Community Waffle House.
Mike will be telling the story behind his new book to an audience at Waffle from 7pm on Wednesday March 1.
A spokesman for the event said: "The book One Thousand Shades of Green was born out of lockdowns when he turned the issue of too much time on his hands to good effect by setting out on a mission to see 1,000 species of wild plants in a calendar year.
"The book also crucially assesses how Britain’s fascinating flora is faring. The elation, the despair, the dangers and the accomplishments of Mike’s quest are all laid bare.
"Mike is The One Show's answer to Dr Doolittle. Be it dressing as a bush or dousing himself in deer urine there is nothing he won't do, or wear to get his audience up close and personal to British wildlife.
"He even briefly held the Guinness World Record for The Most Snails on the Face in One Minute."
You can book tickets via the Archway Bookshop - call in, call 01297 33744 or visit the shop's website.
Tickets cost £5, which is recoverable if you then buy a signed copy of the book (£17.99) on the evening.
