A village in Devon has been named among the most romantic honeymoon destinations in the UK, according to new research.
Beer, on the South East coast of the county, was ranked joint third, along with Tenby in Pembrokeshire, on the list from Fabulous Bingo.
The site conducted analysis having referred to articles displaying the ‘prettiest’ locations mapped nationwide, including FBM Holidays, Condé Nast Traveller and Which, to form a combined seed list of the most romantic honeymoon destinations in the UK.
A total of 45 locations were identified and investigated for the list from this process.
To determine which honeymoon destination is most popular, Fabulous Bingo utilised Google search volume through average searches per month, having searched for the name of the location only.
Beer came joint third having accumulated 74,000 average monthly searches.
Speaking about the village, Fabulous Bingo wrote: "The picture-perfect fishing village of Beer offers stunning views of the sea and its beaches which are perfect for romantic walks and picnics."
Beer managed to beat out locations such as Castle Combe in the Cotswolds, Polperro in Cornwall and Beaulieu in Hampshire on the list.
What does Beer have to offer?
On the VisitDevon website, it plays up the "picturesque" nature of Beer, as well as the fact it is part of England’s first natural World Heritage site.
Alongside that its beach is popular among holidaymakers and is part of the Jurassic Coast.
The village also sits within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has won several accolades including being named Countryfile’s Top Picnic Spot.
If you are looking for a romantic getaway, VisitDevon claims "it is hard to be bored" when visiting the area.
