Sections of the A3052 between Branscombe Cross and Seaton will be closed overnight for road works starting later this month.
Essential resurfacing, signage and drainage work will begin on Monday, January 23 and end on Friday, February 3.
The road closures will be in place Monday to Friday from 7pm until 7am. There will be no weekend working, so the road will remain open overnight on Saturday January 28 and Sunday 29.
A diversion will be in place for the duration of the work; details can be seen on one network and more information about the work is available on Devon County Council’s traffic information webpages.
Cllr Stuart Hughes, cabinet member for highways management, said: “We’re managing to fit a lot of essential maintenance work, including signage and drainage works, into 10 overnight closures. Completing it all at the same time will minimise disruption and inconvenience to the travelling public.
“We have to sign diversion routes using equivalent category roads, and in this case that can accommodate heavy goods vehicles that use this major route. Drivers of smaller vehicles may find alternative shorter routes to their destination.”
