Villages in Action are hosting a new musical performance at the Axminster Heritage Centre as part of the From Devon With Love festival.
Taking place on On Friday September, 23. The show is a exploration of Axminster Heritage Centre in the company of three flautists.
Audiences can choose where to go next, who to follow, where to listen. All performances are different and every participant curates their own experience.
Experience the familiar in a new way, in the company of one of the most ancient of musical sounds - the flute.
Flute Cake are a flute trio made up of Sophie Brewer, Jennifer Campbell and Ruth Molins.
At the end of the performance audience members are invited to share their views on the music and how it made them feel about the building which is housed on the site of a former factory, court-house and hospital.
Organised by Devon-based arts organisations Villages in Action and Axminster Heritage Centre, this event is part of the From Devon With Love festival - an annual scratch performance festival which supports some of the region’s best talent to test new work in front of a live audience.
Scratch is a process of developing creative work that involves the audience from the onset, with artists sharing in-development work with an audience, who then help to shape the work through their immediate responses and feedback.
