The Uplyme and Lyme Regis Horticultural Society will be hosting a talk and tasting by food writer Mark Diacono this month.
Taking place on Wednesday, September 28, at 7.30pm at the Uplyme Village Hall. The Uplyme and Lyme Regis Horticultural Society will be hosting a talk and tasting by food writer Mark Diacono on the subject Herbs: a Taste of the Unexpected.
Mark will take a look at less familiar herbs, including how to grow them and get the best out of them in the kitchen. And he’ll be tempting people’s tastebuds with a couple of garden cocktail tasters.
He is a writer, cook, gardener and photographer who created Otter Farm to encourage people to grow unusual and forgotten foods with incredible flavours. He writes regularly for national newspapers and has several award-winning books to his credit. A Year at Otter Farm and A Taste of the Unexpected, both won Food Book of the Year, while The New Kitchen Garden, and River Cottage Veg Patch Handbook, both won Garden Book of the Year. His most recent book is HERB/a cook’s companion.
Doors open at 7pm for refreshments. The talk starts at 7.30pm. Members free, non-members £3.
