Plenty of golfing action took place at Honiton Golf Club.

Mens

Derek Richards scored a hole in one on the second hole at Honiton in the Thursday night Roll Up.

All members present were treated to a drink for his achievement, which also helped his team to win the event.

Ladies

It has been a busy fortnight for Honiton Ladies with four competitions to complete.

County Prize 5 stableford was completed on May 24 with Division 1 winner Anusara Trayling scoring 37 points, and Division 2 winner Tracey Smith scoring 33 points.

On Wednesday, May 29, County Prize 6 was finalised.

Division 1 winner was Anusara Trayling with 38 points and Division 2 winner Stephani Barnes on 36 points.

Running alongside these stablefords was the Jubilee Cup competition, across two rounds, with the cup going to Anusara Trayling with a combined score of 75 points, and runner-up Stephani Barnes with a total of 68 points.

The High Six trophy, for handicappers of 31 and over, was also contested, with Joan Crook coming in winner with 30 points.

The 9 hole Stableford competition on May 29, resulting in a win for Maureen Lawrence with 13 points.

Mixed

Midweek Herald: Georgie Hope-Edwards and Andy Dawe win this month's Centenary Goblets

Being the last Tuesday of the month, Honiton’s Tuesday Mixed Group competed in the monthly drawn Pairs Greensomes, seeking to become this month’s holders of the Centenary Goblets.

These trophies were donated to the club in 1996 by Ben and Vera Chivers, specifically for this mixed monthly competition.

It was a relatively low-scoring event and the prize winners were separated by a single point.

Coming out on top was the pairing of Georgie Hope-Edwards and Andy Dawe with 35 points.

The runners-up with 34 points were Linda Blundell and Harry Lawrence.

Seniors

This week's Friday competition was a combination of a monthly Stableford, the 6th and final round of the Winter Eclectic and the 2024 Seniors Masters.

In Division 2, the winner was Paul Webber with 36 points followed by Bill Phillips and Terry Walden.

Division 1 was taken by Simon Ruben with 38 points beating Rob Sexton and Tony Williams on countback.

In the Masters, the winner of the green jersey this year is Rob Sexton.
