One of history's biggest police hunts was for celebrated author Agatha Christie who went missing for 11 days in 1926.

Her crashed car was found in Surrey and Christie was suspected to be dead.

The mystery author was, however, found at a luxury hotel in Harrogate, claiming to have amnesia and remembering nothing.

Despite her claims, both the media and the police did not believe her.

Actor Liz Grand, known for her one-woman shows such as The Second Best Bed, brings to life this mysterious incident in her latest show, Where Is Mrs Christie?

The performance unravels questions like if Christie lied, if the amnesia was real, or if was it a publicity stunt.

The play, performing at The Beehive in Honiton on July 12 at 7.30pm, has already thrilled more than 90 audiences around the UK, making it a must-see for fans of the author.

The show gives insight into the enigmatic persona of Agatha Christie, who maintained a low profile and refrained from giving interviews after the incident.

The Stage, the newspaper and website covering the entertainment industry, praised the play in a four-star review: "Liz Grand's performance in the title role is compelling.

"So persuasive is she that we the audience become co-conspirators.

"Her Mrs. Christie is irresistibly engaging, vulnerable, confiding and ultimately indomitable in her strength of spirit.

"It is a master-class in nuanced delivery and dramatic timing, deliberately tantalising, directed unfussily and designed for spot-on period fidelity."
